Justin Turk
I was born in Coffs Harbour and I've grown up in the small suburb of Mullaway, just north of Coffs, a very quiet coastal suburb and tucked away from the spotlight of the surfing world. I began surfing at the age of six, as I was lucky enough to have the waves at my doorstep. During my younger years, I was doing many different sports such as tennis, football and nippers. It wasn't until the age of eleven when I competed in my first surfing competition. When I realized that I could have fun with my surfing. I started to put my head down to try to take my surfing to the highest possible point.I've been raised up around a range of beach breaks and little points, without the crowds of the city beaches.
During my cadet days, I had come third in the NSW state titles in 2006 and followed it up with a ninth place finish at Aussie titles. The past two years I have been doing the junior series, trying to get to as many pro junior competitions as I can, to improve my surfing and experience. While I'm not doing competitions or attending school, I am training at home, trying to get as fit as possible, so that I can perform to the best of my ability. Other than that, I am searching beaches for secluded waves up and down the east coast, free surfing with mates and enjoying the lifestyle of surfing.
Like most surfers, I'm hoping to get as much as possible out of my surfing career, but to have fun at the same time and hopefully qualify for the WCT, but there is a long way to go to get to that point. It will involve lots of hard training and hard work to get there.
Most embarrassing moment?
Went out one nite. Rocked up, chicks everywhere and thefirst thing I did, was went swimming with the gold fish and beautiful lilypillys in the deepest pond ever. Haha definitely the most embarrassing thingthat has happen to me.

Glass on fins or fin system? Why?
Glass fin's are better, but I use fins system, cause thereeasier to travel with.
Favourite surf destination and wave?
Down the coast to Trechery, or around that area. Good wavesall around there.
Favourite manoeuvre?
Getting fins free, anything that loosens the board feelspretty sick.
Celebrity crush?
Don"t really have one, but if I had to pick I would have tosay Miley Cyrus.
What's in your travelling quiver?
Couple of short boards maybe bigger board if expected swell.
Status (married, single, whatever)?
Single man, enjoys watching the sun set, with a bit of lightmusic in the background. haha
