Dion Atkinson
Hi my name is Dion Atkinson I hail from Seaford, which is just south east of Adelaide in South Australia. I was born here on the 29th of April in1986. I have lived here my wholelife except for a year when I was 18 I moved to the Gold Cost to help furthermy surfing! As it happened it worked with me finishing my junior career 3rd on the Junior Series and places 9th in the World Junior titles! I had a nasty injury to my left knee at the start of my first year on the WQS which was a big set back for that year. In 2008 I finished 5 places off qualifying so I am currently really looking forward to going few better this year! My biggest aspiration for my surfing is to qualify for the WCT for 2010. I have been competing on the WQS for a few years now. In this off season I have been really trying to train hard and with my main focus to go into this year with all of my equipment sorted out and as fit as I can be! I have been spending a lot of time on a lot of different trips trying to really enjoy my surfing I have been surfing a lot out bush on the west coast of South Australia as well as going to Samoa and lots of little interstate trips!
If I was not a surfer I don't really know where I would be? I know I defiantly wouldn't be as happy as I am in the life I live! I started doing University for 6 months studying marketing management, but I'm not sure if I would still be there doing it I am really enthusiastic about physio work but I also like to be crafty with building.

Being dacked at a school assembly..

Glass ons bit more drive but got to have both for travelling

Worst wipeout?
Surfing Jefferysbay a few years ago I fell pretty hard withmy back leg slipping off and with a 6ft lip landing on my other leg while doingthe splits, I done my medial and posteriour cruciates was out of the water for3months!
