Jasset Iva Umbel
Get used to hearing about Jasset Umbel from Melbourne, Florida. At 14 years old she is dominating the East Coast amateur ranks, and holding claim to 2 Regional NSSA titles, including Southeast/North Open Women and Explorer Girls. Jasset Umbel lives just a few blocks from the beach and it shows in her surfing. She freesurfs regularly with her dad and brother Jack, but knows how to turn up the heat in competition. She's won twelve out of twenty three NSSA events and will be bringing her east coast prowess to the west coast for the NSSA Nationals this June. Most embarrassing moment?
I was at Middles in P.R. for the first time and was standing on the reef waiting to jump in. A wave came and knocked me flat out on my stomach and I heard all these boys on the beach behind me cracking up.

Future fin system. I can change out my fins to match the conditions without switching boards, it also helps with travel.
Favorite surf destination and wave?
I've only been to two places so Jobos and Middles in P.R.and Lowers in Ca. I love long, peeling waves because in Florida our waves last about 3 seconds.

Airs because they're always exciting to watch.
