Jen GilanFarr
Jen GilanFarr's ascent to the top of women's professional wakeskating was fast, if not especially furious. The soft-spoken, 21-year-old Lake Tahoe native quietly swept the WWA National AND World Championships, and was unanimously named Alliance Wakeskate's Female Rider of the Year. The proof of her steadfast dedication to the wakeskating and it's growth (particularly on the women's side) is evident every time she hits the water, and sent a charge through women's wakeskating going into the 2009 season. She is the first and only woman to ever land a wake-to-wake shuv it (several, in fact), and one of the few with all-around skills behind the boat, on rails, at the cable or exploring terrain with a winch. There are few who love water time any more then Jen, and it's obvious. Off the water she is an accomplished graphic artist, and holds a full-time job as Lead Designer for an Orlando-based creative agency (to see herartwork go to www.fctn.tv.) In fact, Jen designed her own board graphics for her 2009 Integrity pro model wakeskate, the"Jenny Danger" (see image of her graphic in photo gallery).

30 riders hit the park all day long, throwing down on the rails, kickers as well as water tricks. The head-to head final consisted of Texas shredder Bret Little and Andrew Fortenberry, a solid rider from Santa Maria Island, Florida. And the winner will be announced at the Arnette Awards Party on Saturday night at The Social in Downtown Orlando at 9 p.m.
1. Most embarrassing or funny moment?
Probably the time 3 or 4 kit-kats slipped into my lap at the movietheaters and melted all over my pants. I had no idea until about an hour laterwhen my friends and I were walking around the grocery store and everyone thatwalked by was pointing and laughing hysterically.
2. Any favorite quote or saying?
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepestfear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darknessthat most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There isnothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecurearound you. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let ourown light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberatesothers."
