Alize Arnaud was crowned World Junior Champion today at the second and final World Junior Surfing Championships event held here at NorthNarrabeen, Australia.
"It's so good it's… what a feeling!" said Alize. "Since my firstwave 10 years ago I've always wanted to be world champion and now to get itnow, it's my last junior year, so it's just perfect."
The 20 year old O'Neill rider from Anglet, France was lifted upthe beach after her semi final heat, draped in the French flag
Despite having lost that heat, Alize's closest rival for thetitle and good friend, Laura Enever, was knocked out in the semi-finals,allowing Alize to take victory: "She showed she was the best in both events,she performed in every condition and got through and that's what it takes to bea world champion," Laura Enever said.
