Jack O'Neill, surfer, ocean lover, boating enthusiast, wetsuit pioneer, balloonisht, and founder of the iconic worldwide surf company O'neill, passed away in Santa Cruz, California, of natural causes at the age of 94.
The family of Jack O'Neill and the O'Neill brand would like to extend a heartfelt "Thank You" to all who have reached out with thoughts, prayers, sympathy, remembrances, stories and pictures since the passing of legendary waterman Jack O'Neill on Friday 2nd of June 2017.
O'Neill Sea Odyssey
In 1996, Jack established the O'Neill Sea Odyssey (OSO), a marine and environmental education program. Now in its 22nd year, O'neill Sea Odyssey has served over 94,000 Ocean Stewards and welcomed its 100,000th student in June 2018.
Aboard the Team O'Neill catamaran, young minds have explored the newly designated Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary and gained a deep understanding for ocean life.

Jack's legacy was celebrated on a global scale on July 9th with a touching worldwide ceremony
Across 5 continents and more than 10 countries, O'Neill held a series of symbolic memorial paddle outs in all corners of the world. From Santa Cruz to Sydney, surfers paid tribute to the life & adventures of Jack O'Neill with a giant 'circle of love' Thank ou all for your global support, heartfelt messages & memorial contributions.
