Technical Features

Connector System

The connector lets you connect the pants snow gaiter to the jacket at the front as well as the rear and the sides. Just loop your belt through and away you go.

Bottom Adjustment

A adjuster that can be found at the hem of your pants to increase or decrease the leg opening.

Chinguard Protector

A protective piece of comfortable fabric to keep the zip soft and cosy against your chin and avoid rash.

Critically Taped Seams

In order to make an outerwear garment waterproof, you need more than waterproof fabrics - you also need taped seams. A simple seam becomes a taped seam once waterproof taping has been carefully and firmly placed over a stitched seam. Critically taped seams means that only the seams in critical, exposed areas are taped.

Elasticated Cuff

Elasticated cuff helps keep chills from going up the sleeves.

Ergonomic Shaped Pattern

Ergonomically curved seams for maximum freedom of movement. The seams are constructed at at a contoured angle to aid freedom of movement.

Fixed Hood

Keep the heat in and the snow out with the fixed hood. Ergonomically shaped hood with build in visor for maximum storm coverage.

Lift Pass Pocket

Keep your lift pass safely in its (zippered) pocket. The pocket is always positioned on your left underarm to scan your lift pass with ease at the automatic access control gates.

Snow Gaiter

The barrier between the snow and your body when you take a tumble. This piece of fabric is found at the bottom hem inside the jacket with press buttons to seal it and stop snow getting in.

Storm Placket

Covers the zipper to keep moisture and the cold air out. A protective flap of fabric which sits in front of the jacket over the zip to stop cold winds getting into your jacket

Wrist gaiter

A stretchy piece of fabric at the end of the arm cuff which you can put your hands in to stop snow going down your sleeve.

  • Icon O'Neill Firewall

Inspired by O'Neill's 60-year history in wetsuit design; our body mapping research has show us parts of the body that require more insulation.

Used for this product in conjunction with insulations from for example 3M™ Thinsulate™ or down; O'Neill Firewall reduces weight, maintains warmth and offers greater comfort on cold days.

  • Icon O'Neill Firewall Magma

That crazy looking pattern in the back of the jacket is O'Neill Firewall Magma. That's a thermal energy-absorbing pattern that absorbs and retains significantly more body warmth than a convential lining (like…25% more). It's printed there because the back of the jacket is THE place to keep your core warm. It is breathable and moisture-wicking too. Clever huh? This latest technology is the next level of warmth efficiency in outerwear and never moan about the cold again.

  • Icon Thinsulate

Known as the ‘warmth without bulk’ padding, Thinsulate™ is a type of insulation that offers exceptional warmth whilst being extremely lightweight and low profile. Thinsulate™ works by trapping air in its very fine fibres and reflecting it back to the body. The result is a breathable, wicking and super warm insulator that is used for this product.
